On Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, 2024, the Arlington Latin Mass Society partnered with Mass of the Ages to organize two screenings of the series finale at the Miracle Theatre in Washington, DC, and the Royal Cinemas in Front Royal, VA:

After Pope Francis restricts the Traditional Latin Mass, a group of mothers set out to walk from Paris to Rome on a mission: deliver thousands of letters begging him to reverse his decision.

Dr. Joseph Shaw, President of the International Federation Una Voce and Chairman of the Latin Mass Society of England and Wales, was in attendance at both screenings and took part in the Q&A's with the film team.

The DC screening was sponsored in part by Regina Trips, and the Front Royal screening by Robert Howard and Cory Cook of the Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors.

The local implementations of Traditionis custodes in the Diocese of Arlington and the Archdiocese of Washington single out the Sacred Triduum as a Latin Mass blackout period. As a result, the faithful of those dioceses attached to the traditional Roman Rite must travel elsewhere on these holiest days of the year.

To help ease the burden these restrictions impose, the Arlington Latin Mass Society chartered a round-trip shuttle bus for residents of the Arlington and Washington dioceses to go to the traditional Good Friday Mass of the Pre-Sanctified at the FSSP-run National Shrine of St. Alphonsus Liguori in Baltimore. Due to lack of signups, the planned route to Richmond's FSSP-run St. Joseph Church did not run.

Over 40 pilgrims signed up to ride, and even with a mechanical breakdown early on in the morning testing their resolve, nearly as many pressed on and made it to Baltimore once a replacement bus arrived to continue the trip. Upon their arrival, they met even more familiar faces from Arlington and Washington who made the trip independently, all bearing witness to the uncompromisable necessity of the traditional rite's beauty, reverence, and suitability for the worship of the living God.

On all the passengers' behalf, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the donors and volunteers who helped make this service possible and who kept the project in the black financially.

On January 23, 2023, an internal FBI memo was leaked, in which traditional Catholics were called “violent extremists” and compared to domestic terrorists.

On the one year anniversary of that memo, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, we celebrated the Traditional Latin Mass in the United States Capitol, as fully American as anyone else.

An estimated 60-70 faithful were in attendance, ranging from an infant to octogenarians.

We wish to thank Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, and Congressman Dan Meuser, as well as their respective staffs, for their show of solidarity with American traditional Catholics and their help in making this Mass happen.

The Mass was widely reported in Catholic and secular media, including in The Pillar (here and here), Catholic News Agency, the National Catholic Register, the Catholic World Report, Catholic Vote, Fr. Z's Blog, Rorate Cæli, LifeSite News, OnePeterFive, CatholicCulture.org, Crisis Magazine, the Daily Caller, and National Review Online.

Contrary to some media reports, this private Mass was indeed licit.

Bishop Strickland has been removed from his office as Bishop of Tyler in eastern Texas, in part because he refused to implement Traditionis custudes and cancel the Latin Mass.

We have been praying the Holy Rosary outside the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, DC, every week for over a year, for the intention of the restoration of the traditional Latin Mass to its former liberty.

This week, join us for the full traditional Rosary – all 15 mysteries – as we add Bishop Strickland to our prayers.

Same time, same place – 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, outside the Apostolic Nunciature.

If you haven't been to the DC Rosary Rally in a while, now is the time to return. Bring your friends. The Church is desperately in need of prayers and bold, public witness to the absolute necessity of Tradition.

On Sat. Oct. 21 at 2 p.m., the Emperor Karl League of Prayer sponsored the annual Solemn Mass for the Feast of Bl. Karl of Austria at St. Mary Mother of God in Washington, DC. (Due to the Archdiocese of Washington's implementation of Traditionis custodes, this Mass was in the Novus Ordo.) 

Veneration of the relic of Bl. Karl followed, and Archduke Paul Hapsburg, son of Hungarian ambassador to the Holy See Eduard Hapsburg and cousin of Bl. Karl, was in attendance.

For the September installment of the ALMS Speaker Series, Father Richard Nichols, S.J., delivered a lecture on the history of the Jesuits' relationship with the traditional Latin Mass.

Father Nichols is a priest of the Society of Jesus and a chaplain at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

On Saturday, September 9, 2023, Catholics from across the country took part in the Third National Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage, in penance and reparation for the destruction of the Western liturgical patrimony through Traditionis custodes and its various local implementations, and praying for the restoration of the Traditional Latin Mass and sacraments to their former liberty.

On Saturday, July 29, Sister Deirdre Byrne, POSC, will deliver a lecture for the ALMS Speaker Series, on "Being in the State of Grace as God's Foot-Soldiers." 

Sister's talk followed the weekly DC Rosary Rally at 9 a.m. at the Apostolic Nunciature, and marked the one year anniversary of consistent weekly witness to the power and beauty of the Traditional Latin Mass.

The second installment of the ALMS Speaker Series was on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the chapel of Holy Family Academy in Manassas, Virginia.

Father John Perricone offered reflections on "Why the Extraordinary Form is Extraordinary," and about the principal aspects of the Traditional Latin Mass that guarantee fidelity to the Catholic Faith and personal sanctification.

Father Perricone is a priest of the Archdiocese of Newark, where he celebrates the Latin Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Jersey City, NJ.
